What could happen if you don’t maintain your site on a regular basis?

Outdated content and design

If you don’t care to keep your site current, why should people visit it?

Errors

Some features on the website are set to automatically update and when they do, it could cause an error for a variety of reasons - coding, compatability, support, etc.

Broken Links

A link that doesn’t work, resulting in an error. It happens when the link points to a web page that has moved or been deleted. Having broken links on your site will stop search engines from completely indexing your site.

Render Incorrectly

When browsers, such as Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer are updated, websites should be looked over by the developer to make sure every page renders correctly in all browsers (yes, some coding needs variations in order for it to render properly in each browser).

Site down

Your site could go down for a few hours, days, weeks, forever. Without maintaining the site, you may not have proper backups to restore the site if this happens. This means you’ll have to start from scratch, potentially missing out on sales and leads and ultimately having to take time out of your busy schedule to try to fix your site and put it back together.
